Karlovo

The town of Karlovo is located in Central Bulgaria. Karlovo is the birthplace of the Apostle of Bulgarian Freedom, Vasil Levski.
Vasil Ivanov Kunchev, known as Vasil Levski, is a Bulgarian national hero. He was an ideologist and organizer of the Bulgarian national revolution and the founder of the Internal Revolutionary Organization (IRO). He is also known as the Apostle of Freedom due to his organization and development of a revolutionary network for liberating Bulgaria from Ottoman rule. He traveled throughout the country and established private revolutionary committees to prepare for a general revolution. His dream was a pure and holy republic where everyone would have equal rights, regardless of their nationality or religion.
Within the territory of Karlovo, there is the meat processing enterprise „Meat Combine Karlovo“ JSC, which is part of the „Boni Holding“ group. The signature product of the producer is the famous Karlovo lukanka (dried sausage), which is registered by the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The city is home to cosmetic manufacturers and meat processing companies. The company „Bulgarian Rose“ JSC, established in the city, produces various cosmetic products.
The machinery manufacturing company IVO Ltd. is a leading enterprise in the industry.
In the Karlovo area, essential oil crops are cultivated, including lavender and oil-bearing roses.
